The Senior Project Controls Specialist will be responsible for a comprehensive schedule control system, including daytoday planning activities and integration of contractor schedules into the overall project schedule, as well as play a key role in delivering a complete suite of costcontrol services and financial support for field managed projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES: The duties and responsibilities for this role are as follows:

  • Develop project planning, scheduling, and cost controls strategy, plans and procedures, reflecting both client and contractor roles and responsibilities and adhering to segment financial, business, and project processes
  • Provide the necessary schedules to ensure the development of proper estimates and studies within a project stage and for sanction
  • Coordinate and develop appropriate internal and external schedule benchmarks and technical limits
  • Address issues pertaining to project cost control procedures
  • Prepare and implement projectwide work breakdown structure (WBS) / cost breakdown structure (CBS)
  • Coordinate and develop appropriate control budgets consistent with project estimate and WBS / CBS
  • Participate in the development of project execution plans
  • Ensure the preparation and development of appropriate detail and summary project control schedules
  • Implement and monitor costs and schedules within each project stage and for entire project until completion or closeout
  • Collect and compile progress/cost data and develop costcontrol worksheets/reports for review by delivery teams
  • Provide cost input to commitment closeout process
  • Review financial data related to invoice payments, purchase orders, material deliveries and other financial data
  • Coordinate and develop project workinplace (WIP), commitment and estimate at complete (EAC) forecasts
  • Coordinate and develop project annualspend projections, cost reconciliations, and variance analyses
  • Assist and prepare cost performance management data
  • Provide interface to other functions and teams to improve processes, resolve conflicting priorities, and ensure adherence to best project practices
  • Work with Financial Control and Accounting (FC&A) function to ensure implemented processes conform to internal control evaluation (ICE) requirements
  • Look ahead to ensure readiness to progress forward works
  • Ensure the preparation and develop the interface scheduler
  • Coordinate preparation of schedule and cost risk analysis
  • Provide cost/schedule input to and implement cost/schedule element of the change management procedure and risk management plan
  • Link risk process to change process and estimate
  • Link schedule element of risk process to change process and estimate
  • Prepare and implement projectwide cost/progress measurement and reporting system, including rollup levels, section weightings, and reporting cycle calendar
  • Develop/issue various reports and prepare/ present project information to appropriate stakeholders


LANGUAGES: English fluency required

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree, with a minimum of 10 years of experience in Scheduling and Cost Estimating, and/or a PMP/Project Management Professional accreditation.

PREFERRED CANDIDATE has the following characteristics:

  • Is local
  • Is a scheduler with planning experience and capabilities
  • Has at least 10 years of experience with project control or project management on projects of varied size/magnitude
  • Moderate or better experience level with cost management tools
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work and meet deadlines, recognize and solve problems, think analytically
