Job Description:

This position is responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of manufacturing processes to maintain proper product functionality as well as cost efficiency.  Leads and directs the tasks of project engineers, project managers and customer service personnel.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Establishes engineering standards and specifications and implements in production
  • Responsible for conducting time and process studies to be used to determine standard costs
  • Supervises the process of quoting, scheduling and file maintenance
  • Analyzes manufacturing documentation, makes assessments and recommendations
  • Assists in the flow of production through the shop
  • Creates purchase orders for materials and outside service requirements
  • Communicates with customers to solve project problems and give status on production
  • Oversees the maintenance of plant layout and manufacturing standards, including routings and BOMs
  • Works closely with sales and marketing to identify and ascertain feasibility of new products
  • Ensures that all manufacturing product specifications are developed and testing procedures are in place before starting up new products
  • Other duties as assigned


Requirements:

  • Good communication skills, written and verbal
  • Excellent knowledge of mechanical processes and procedures
  • In-depth knowledge of symbology and print reading in applicable discipline
  • In-depth knowledge of continuous improvement techniques
  • Ability to work under pressure of schedules and deadlines
  • Ability to coordinate the activity of project staff and establish short and long term plans to meet future needs
  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • PE license preferred or ability to get a PE license within 1 year
  • 10+ years of experience in the Oil & Gas and/or Oil Services industry
  • At least 3 years of experience as technical or engineering manager
  • Ideal candidate will have client interface and presentation exposure
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills with ability to interact positively with all levels of management
  • Proficient with Computer Aided Design and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
