Job Description:

The Contracts Supervisor is responsible for assisting both the Operations Department and Sales Department with contracts for the North America and International operations.

Job Description

  • Prepare contractual provisions and administer all contract proposals
  • Negotiate contracts with suppliers of products and/or services for Ryan Directional Services
  • Prepare bids and regulate specifications and provisions in each contract
  • Responsible for all correspondence regarding contracts
  • Evaluate the performance or quality, in order to advise on the future of contracts
  • Advise management on contractual issues
  • Work closely with Nabors Legal department to ensure that contracts language complies with legal requirements and maintains a good business sense, in order to expedite contracting processes
  • Develop and maintain a database and filing system required to manage all reports and contracts
  • Maintain a professional attitude and a team work concept among all staff within all areas of the organization
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement within the organization
  • Adhere to Company specific Contract Review Policies
  • Communicate contract requirement policies to Ryan Directional' s operations personnel and interpret contract provisions for them when issues arise with customers
  • Negotiate pricing agreements with customers as assigned
  • At least two years' experience analyzing, revising and negotiating contracts to include the allocation of liabilities, indemnities and warranties provisions, along with some occasional negotiation of pricing terms
  • Possess superior knowledge of business law concepts, legal terminology, and contract language
  • A general understanding of the contract drilling services business and associated industry practices
  • Any other duties assigned by management


Education requirements

  • Require a JD and prefer Bachelor's degree in business administration


Work Experience

  • Minimum of two years of progressively responsible experience in contract administration
  • Previous industry related experience considered an asset


Skill Requirement

  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Must be bi-lingual, with the ability to read and write Spanish
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Self starter capable of working with little to no supervision
  • Strong organizational skills and highly detail oriented
  • Ability to work well under pressure and prioritize multiple tasks
  • Must have a comprehensive understanding of contracts and their use in the drilling industry


Work Conditions

  • Work conditions may include travel to and from other facilities, including Canada and Latin America
  • Possible after hour assignments, which may include off site assignments
