Job Description:

Summary
This position designs and develops hull and outfitting structures on jack-up rig designs and engineering project support through the performance of the following duties:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The following duties and responsibilities are essential. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Works injury free, achieves an injury-free working environment, and maintains the highest Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) standards in our industry.  
  • Strives for continuous improvement in worker safety and is dedicated to ensuring that each employee understands, and acts in accordance with, the company's HSE policies.
  • Works with high integrity and complies with corporate guidelines on business ethics.
  • Receives assignment from supervisor.
  • Finite Element Analysis.
  • Read and Review engineering design drawings.
  • Produce design calculations of hull scantlings, primary drill package structures and outfitting structures.
  • Assists in design review, technical interface and resolution with Classification and Regulatory bodies.
  • Prepare analysis reports and summary reports.
  • Assist the design team to develop, review and approve structural engineering design drawings.

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree (B. S.) or equivalent from a four-year college or university required with study concentrated in Civil, Aeronautical, Marine and/or Ocean Engineering preferred.

Certificates, Licenses or other Registrations
None.

Tools, Technology and Equipment

  • Proficient in MS Office system.
  • Proficient with FEA software (i.e. SACS and/or ANSYS).
  • Knowledge of Codes: ABS, AISC 9th Edition, DNV beneficial.
  • Familiar with MathCAD and AutoCAD.
  • Familiarity with publication software Adobe Acrobat.
