Offshore Structural Engineer - Offshore Division

Houston, TX

Position Summary:

In this position, you will be responsible for serving as a Structural Engineer. You will be responsible for design of subsea structures such as PLETs, PLEMs, Manifolds, Suction Anchors, and shallow foundations. You will be responsible for design of topsides structures such as decks, jackets, modules, skids and other various types of offshore structural design. The successful candidate will typically review client supplied design requirements/data, participate/hold design reviews, prepare design reports, procedures and specifications.

Key Roles and Responsibilities
Job functions will include: significant design and design review responsibilities, engineering calculations, studies, detailed design, report writing, field investigations
Interacts with Project Managers and other engineers
Directs designers and drafters to ensure project completion
Responsible for the technical content and quality of the work, adherence to schedules and budgets, and the functional integration of individual project tasks
Selects and applies engineering principles and concepts in field of specialization with working knowledge of other related disciplines
Responsible for reporting on work progress
Performs tasks with minimal supervision
Frequently interacts with clients, vendors and contractors
Responsible for following corporate safety protocols

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Demonstrates intermediate ability to work with various engineering software packages(Such as SACs, Ceaser 2, FEA programs) in standalone or network configurations
Possesses technical skills and understanding of interdisciplinary design processes
Ability to organize and prioritize workload for self and others
Qualifications (Education, Experience and Certifications)


Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited college/university required
FE (EIT) is preferred
Typically Three to Five years related engineering experience
Ability to work with engineering software packages a plus
Microsoft Office experience required
Environment/Working Conditions:
Most work to be performed in office environment with periodic visits to project sites and/or short term field assignments
