Job Description:

SUMMARY:

Wild Well Control is currently seeking a Quality Manager in Houston, TX. The Quality Manager will be responsible for ensuring that processes that impact company business and its products and services provided to internal / external customers are defined, measured, analyzed, improved, and controlled within the company's Quality Management System (QMS). General promotion of the QMS and feedback to management regarding its effectiveness and improvement needs. Plan for QMS development and maintenance activities and follow up on scheduled activities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Development of departmental strategies in support of companywide strategy and goals
  • Facilitate development and implementation of QMS and its subsystems
  • Collaborate with each Houston department and operating area to ensure company processes are defined and used to ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and the company's QMS
  • Development of document controls staff and other quality assurance representatives to function effectively in supporting roles
  • Monitor various data outputs for possible trends that may affect the QMS and communicate to upper management with suggestions
  • Work with Project Managers to ensure that project quality requirements are incorporated into project plans
  • Plan and chair QMS Management Review meetings for Houston and Area offices (as necessary)
  • Control company quality system accreditations as necessary (ISO certification)
  • Manage day to day activities of Houston-based Quality Assurance staff
  • Manage departmental budget and identify opportunities for cost optimization
  • Manage professional consulting services used to support development of the QMS
  • Plan for and monitor the internal & external audit program
  • Arrange the training & development of Quality Assurance staff and other key personnel
  • Monitor and follow up corrective & preventive action items until closed out
  • Manage and facilitate Performance Objectives and Monitoring program
  • Participate in reviews of 3rd party products and services to ensure that quality requirements are identified and met
  • Meet with potential / current customers in regards to the company's QMS
  • Develop and deliver training programs that teach application of the QMS
  • Coordinate process and document development with all Departments/ Operating Areas
  • Facilitate all aspects of Quality document control concerning the review, revision, authorization and release
  • Respond and act upon internal / external feedback received regarding the quality systems
  • Participate in orienting new employees on Quality systems
  • Review tenders for quality requirements and supply inputs as required to bids
  • Attend industry conferences and stay abreast of current industry developments regarding quality assurance / control
  • Conduct quality presentations for Annual Area Managers Meetings/Departments/Clients and as required
  • Utilize new technology to increase employee's access to the Quality Management Systems
  • Interface with partner companies and/or vendors where QMS collaboration is appropriate
  • Interface with HS&E and other topical management systems as appropriate

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • 8+ years of experience with ISO based Quality Management system
  • Experience with Documentum or other document control platforms
  • Understanding of Business Management and Administration
  • Understanding of Project Management principles and practices
  • International business experience and travel
  • Experience in multi-task environment
  • Effective Trainer
  • Familiar with Quality Principles and Tools
  • Familiar with writing standards (APA, MLA, etc.)
  • Self-starter, able to prioritize and organize department workload on a daily basis
  • Effective verbal and written communicator
  • Able to deal with a wide range of situations and personalities, good interpersonal skills
  • Able to work well under pressure and maintain a team spirit and cooperative attitude
  • Able to conduct public speaking, good presentation skills
  • Detail-oriented, excellent organizational skills and consistent
  • Open minded, committed to continual improvement
  • Ability to lead others

EDUCATION:

  • Minimum of Bachelor's degree from an accredited university strongly desired
  • Oil and Gas industry experience strongly preferred
  • Certified Quality Manager (CQM) strongly preferred
  • Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) strongly preferred
  • Membership in associated industry associations (ASQ, API etc.)
  • Computer proficiency in current versions of Windows, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Visio
