Job Description:

Role Summary/Purpose:

The Account Executive is responsible for managing sales activities for North America through company sales personnel and representatives.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Be responsible meeting with clients to secure business, develops business relationships and provides product knowledge for applications and projects
  • Be responsible developing and implementing strategic sales plans to meet corporate objectives
  • Be responsible working with internal Company resources to prepare client proposals, quotations, and product delivery schedules to meet customer requirements
  • Be responsible setting performance goals and forecasting sales activities
  • Be responsible analyzing data regarding market to formulate strategies and develop marketing techniques
  • Be responsible budget, including advertising and promotional budget
  • Be responsible developing and maintaining account management plans
  • Be Responsible to develop and supervise the preparation, issuance, and delivery of sales materials, exhibits, and promotion programs; prepare for and attend exhibits, conferences, meetings, and other local, regional and national promotional opportunities
  • As required, respond to inquiries and research and resolve problems related to transactions handled by the unit; serve as liaison with other constituencies in the resolution of day-to-day administrative and operational issues
  • As appropriate to the position, participate in the development of operating goals and objectives for the unit; recommend, implement and administer methods and procedures to enhance operations
  • Demonstrate accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives; integrate and develop processes that meet business needs across the organization, manage complex issues within functional area of expertise, be involved in long-term planning, and contribute to the overall business strategy
  • Lead the team in all aspects of account growth including strategy development, integrated account planning, opportunity identification, and value communication
  • Define entitlement and identify areas to penetrate and grow profitability
  • Interface directly with the marketing organization to drive high value solutions leveraging the GE portfolio
  • Serve as a conduit for solutions detailed understanding of customer's business model and how GE's products and services develop and deliver added value to the customer
  • Build customer relationships and communication at all levels
  • Matrix with existing functional and P&L teams to achieve growth objectives
  • Structure, price, negotiate and close deals
  • Successfully interface with GE Corporate and GE Washington Operations as required
  • Supervise up to 3 individuals including Technical Sales Engineers and other disciplines
  • Actively participate in community events with the customer
  • Utilize six sigma tools & methodologies to drive improvements in key processes for the customer


Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 5 years of field sales experience with at least 3 years of experience in a management role
Minimum of 3 years of related industry experience

  • Thorough understanding of flexible pipe and competing technologies is preferred
  • Individual must have strong interpersonal skills and be a good verbal and written communicator with the ability to portray a confident professional manner to customer at all levels in a diverse community
  • Individual must be able to coordinate and organize meetings, create, compose, and edit written materials, and effectively maintain records
  • Individual must have the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Individual must have the ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
  • Individual should have the ability to manage and effectively develop employees
  • Individual must have the ability to foster a cooperative work environment
  • Solid experience in business development or building growth plans is preferred
  • Able to develop and maintain customer relationships at all levels, including the CEO staff level
  • Strategic or product marketing exposure
  • Customer-centric mindset, able to translate customer issues / needs into profitable business solutions
  • Able to effectively interface with all levels of internal and external customers
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Established program management ability
