Instrumentation Control Engineer

Job Responsibilities and Duties:

• Serve as the I&E and control systems technical expert for the Engineering department.
• Work with Project Managers and serve as the I&E and control systems technical expert in the design, procurement, construction, and commissioning phases of new pipeline and station construction projects.
• Specify new instrumentation, electrical equipment and control systems hardware for new construction projects.
• Lead the I&E effort on assigned projects involving existing Genesis and TDC assets, companywide.
• Mentor junior level I&E technicians in the execution of their job responsibilities, and assist with their projects as required.

Knowledge Requirements:

• Ability to read and generate schematics, electrical one lines, relay logic, and ladder logic.
• Ability to read and understand P&ID's, electrical drawings, and control system drawings.
• Understanding of basic motor controls and electrical theory.
• Ability to troubleshoot and address failures/malfunctions of process control and monitoring instrumentation.
• Working knowledge of NEC code.
• Working knowledge of Allen Bradley Ladder Logic and the ability to troubleshoot as needed.
• Working knowledge of high voltage systems and the ability to troubleshoot as needed.
• Must be able to maintain up-to-date knowledge on new instrumentation, electrical equipment, and control systems.
• Must be able to maintain knowledge of those assets that may become obsolete.
• Understand and apply operational and repair practices to CP rectifiers as needed.

Required Experience and Qualifications:

• 10 years of industry experience
• Electrical Engineering Degree with Instrumentation and Process Control emphasis desired
