Position Scope
The Global Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Advisor is responsible for advising and assisting in the development and execution of the Corporate HSE mandate, overall implementation of OEPS policies, performance standards within their area of responsibility.

Position Responsibilities

  • Generally assist, manage, coordinate and execute departmental operations to meet the objective of the corporate strategic HSE plan
  • Critique performance against operating plans and standards
  • Represent Global HSE as Interface with various departments and functions in WFT
  • Represent Global HSE as Interface with Customers
  • Provide subject matter expertise in the development of HSE related training content
  • Required to deliver approved HSE presentations to clients to ensure that Weatherford's programs, performance and plans are clearly communicated
  • Assist in the implementation and maintenance of Enterprise Risk Management solutions
  • Oversee effective management of RCA for incidents or HIPO Near Misses ranked as major or catastrophic (WFT Risk Matrix), including the provision of full reporting to HSE, PL, Regional Management and SLC GEM Champion, as required
  • Assumes an active leadership role in addressing HSE performance & response to all incidents with a consequence rating of serious, major or catastrophic and ensures that those incidents are appropriately managed with lessons learned communicated as required throughout the organization
  • Understanding and experience in the planning, facilitation and reporting of HAZID, HAZOP, FMEA, Bow Tie and Barrier Effectiveness and Control studies
  • Demonstrated understanding of the WFT Risk Management process, to include hazard identification, initial and residual risk evaluation, application and effectiveness of controls risks
  • Understanding and demonstrated ability to facilitate and lead interpret HSE data, leading and lagging KPI's
  • Development of monthly and quarterly performance management reports as required
  • Ability to actively lead, participate or support Project HSE teams
  • Ability to communicate broadly, with field level personnel, mid-level and senior management
  • A demonstrated and proven track record with HSE success
  • Develop and deliver HSE Training and assist in development and maintenance of Global HSE Training & Competency initiatives
  • Participates in the development of the annual corporate HSE improvement plan
  • Responsible for the effective implementation of the Eight GEMS program, including:
  • Demonstrated leadership and commitment to GEMS program and WFT HSE
  • Demonstrated and comprehensive understanding of the Eight GEMS and 'Rules To Live By'
  • Tracking, trending and providing updates to management on the implementation and any violations of Weatherford's 'RTLB'
  • Tracking and trending HSE performance data with Eight GEMS classifications
  • Assist in the development and implementation of the GEMS audit protocols to ensure consistent application of the Weatherford's HSE Performance Standards and OEPS
  • Assist in the review and amendment of GEMS Performance Standards and associated GEMS tools

Other Position Requirements

  • To continue personal development and knowledge of industry-wide HSE-related information and technologies as well as new regulations and trends through continuing education, conferences and journals
  • Development and delivery of technical papers and presentations
  • Participate in Weatherford's HSE development framework
  • Serves as a Company representative to external HSE organizations
  • Contributes to a safe working environment
  • Work assignments carried out to the highest quality level
  • Other related duties/functions as assigned
  • Extensive knowledge of WFT internal systems, including Employee Connect, WPTS and SharePoint

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to function well in a multi-tasking environment and to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner
  • Advanced computer and software skills to include the use of word processing and email as well as the intermediate use of spreadsheets, electronic presentations and databases
  • High critical thinking/reasoning ability
  • Excellent leadership, analytical, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Strong presentation skills including public speaking
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills
  • A valid driver's license
  • Ability to travel internationally
  • 10+ years' experience in HSE, Risk Management or related field, operations experience preferred
  • University Degree, with preference to Safety or Risk disciplines
  • Competent HAZOP Team Leader
  • Competent Taproot or equivalent RCA Leader
  • Internal Auditor qualifications
