Job Description:


US based oil and natural gas exploration and production company. My client is one of the largest and most well respected independent oil and gas companies in the US. Plenty of growth opportunity!

* Carries out evaluation of exploration prospects integrating both geophysical and geologic data. * Interpret a variety of G&G data including 2D or 3D seismic, potential field and well data. * Geophysical interpretations and to fully understand, characterize and quantify structural and subsurface uncertainties. * Experience with tying wells to seismic and well synthetic generation. Seismic interpretation (horizon and fault mapping, seismic facies mapping, seismic attribute analysis). * Familiarity with seismic reprocessing, acquisition techniques and methods and depth conversion techniques. * Contribute to play fairway analyses and risking methodologies * Participate in on-site as well as operator hosted technical committee meetings. * Monitor seismic operations. * Perrform post drill analysis/resource estimations and follow-up appraisal activities. * Works with other team members and multi-discipline groups to ensure that knowledge is shared and all elements of the petroleum system are appropriately considered and evaluated. * Assist team in preparing and making presentations to management and partners. * Stay abreast of new technology and apply it appropriately in meeting the group's objectives. * Provide input to Peer Assists and Peer Reviews for other projects as needed.

* Degree:

Bachelors Required & Masters Preferred * Major: Geology, Geophysics, or Physics * Computer Proficiencies Required: Landmark Interpretation suite, 3D Visualization (VoxelGeo or Geoprobe); Desirable: ArcGIS * Work Experience: A minimum 10 years exploration experience and a current classification as Geophysicist/Geologist
