Our client is a drilling technology company aggressively backed by premier venture capitalists with a combined $4B under management.  The company is commercializing high power lasers for the Oil and Gas industry.

SCOPE

We have been asked to identify and recruit and individual who has the experience with electrical design, testing, documentation and product support of hardware used in a downhole environment.  

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

The successful candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, a Master's Degree would be considered a plus. The successful candidate should possess 8 to 15 years of experience with an oilfield service or manufacturer company. Experience with LWD/MWD tool design is necessary as well as experience with electronic sensors and telemetry. The ideal person will have a comfortable balance between hands on field and product development engineering. Ability to develop designs from concept to final production is a must. Design of electronics for high temperature use is a plus.  This individual should have experience with building successful products that are used in the subsea or downhole environment.

In summary, the successful candidate must be hands on and team oriented.  The individual's personal style will need to be suited to a culture which is entrepreneurial, fast paced, value-driven, and with high corporate standards.  The individual will need to be comfortable working in a lean structure; highly customer focused with strong ethical and moral standards.  This individual will also need to be an excellent communicator.
