Job Description:

Oscar Associates are working with a privately held upstream international oil and gas company based in London, who are seeking a Senior Development Geologist to work both operated and non-operated assets in the Caspian region and West Africa. Looking further to the future, the company is actively pursuing new ventures which you will be expected to be involved in.

The Senior Development Geologist will report to the Technical Director, and will be a key member of the Caspian technical team.

Key Dimensions are:
*Acquire, process and interpret a 3D seismic survey
*Develop exploration and appraisal drilling programmes
*Evaluate exploration/appraisal wells on the structure
*Build static and dynamic subsurface models
*Ensure timely and accurate reporting to partners and government
*Maintain the highest HSE standards at all times

You will be expected undertake occasional visits to the region and to other countries as dictated by project needs.

Specific responsibilities:
*Deliver state of the art geological interpretations of the region
*Understand the regional geology, integrate that knowledge into the regional model
*Identify, contract and participate in external studies to optimise geological interpretation
*Select initial well locations from existing 2D seismic data set, produce well prognoses, statement of requirements
*Develop coring, logging and petrophysical programmes
*Evaluate new wells on the structure and integrate new data into the geological models
*Build 3D static reservoir models
*Integrate assessment of seismic facies analysis with the Geophysicist
*Facilitate up-scaling of static models for dynamic modelling

Education
*A degree in geology to honours level or higher.
*A Masters degree/PhD in a related subject would be advantageous.

Experience
*A minimum of 10 years relevant all round geological experience, primarily with operators
*Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team
*Skilled user of current geological modelling software, Petrel preferred.
*Experience in field appraisal and development
*Experienced in sedimentology, structural geology, well planning, log analysis, sequence stratigraphy, geochemistry, facies analysis and basin analysis
*Good knowledge of Geophysics and Petrophysics and track record of integrated geoscience team work
*Knowledge of reservoir engineering
*Work experience in the Caspian an advantage
