SBM Offshore is currently recruiting for a Senior Piping Materials Engineer.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the skill, and/or ability required.
Preparation and maintenance of specifications for piping material components, valves, piping fabrication, erection and inspection.
Act as a piping package engineer to execute procurement for piping material components.
This includes piping specification preparation; review of piping and valve quotations; specification and purchase of piping specialty items; review vendor documentation submittals; and ensure delivery to fabrication site.
This position requires thorough understanding of piping materials and valve designs; be able to prepare piping specifications in accordance with ASME codes (such as ASME B31.3, B31.4, B31.8) and NACE MR0175; be able to specify valves in accordance with ASME codes and API standards as well as other International (BS, ISO, DIN, etc..) standards applicable to marine and process piping systems.
Additionally, the Senior Piping Materials Engineer shall be able to build piping specifications independently with minimal supervision; have knowledge of valve selection; and be able to coordinate with pipe and valve manufacturers and suppliers locally and internationally.
Offshore experience is a must.
Graduate Engineer from an accredited university in a relevant engineering discipline (Mechanical Engineering is preferred) with 7 years of applicable piping materials experience. An advanced Engineering Degree and/or Professional Registration are desirable.
