Civil Engineer, P.E.

An active Professional Engineering license is required for this position which will be located at our offices in Lafayette, LA or at M&H corporate headquarters in Houston, TX.  This position will involve minimal travel, up to 20% of the time.  The Civil Engineer will be working on various onshore oil & gas projects such as gas processing facilities.  Offshore work is also a possibility if the candidate is qualified.  Structural engineering experience would be a plus as well.

The senior civil engineer will be expected to be able to perform the tasks listed below.

• Prepare site grading, road and drainage
• Design of onshore concrete foundations and steel structures to support equipment, fencing, piping and building fabrication detail design
• Skid Structural Designing
• Pipe Support Designing
• Coordinate with designers for completion of construction drawings to be issued
• Coordinate with third party contractors (surveyor, geotechnical consultant and other engineering consultants) for required information for design needs and result any design issues
• Resolve field construction issues
• Prepare project design documents when complete
• Communicate with clients to understand their Civil/Structural standards and ensure client's compliance expectations are met.
• Communicate with vendors for equipment issues and design needs

Desired Skills & Experience

• 10+ years civil engineering experience.
• 5+ years of oil & gas industry experience is required, must be recent.
• Must be a licensed Professional Engineer in the United States. An Alaska PE is preferred, but PE licenses in other states are also acceptable.
• BS in Structural Engineering, BS in Civil Engineering, or equivalent
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer.
• Must be experienced in side grading, road, and drainage.
• Onshore foundation design
• Must be experienced in onshore concrete foundation design
• Pipe support design
• Experienced in onshore structural steel design preferred.
• Skid structural design experience preferred
• Proficient using SACS software for offshore structures a plus.
• Must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Must be able to communicate effectively with peers, other team members and clients
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer.
• Ability to work well independently and effectively with others in a team setting
