Job Description:

Direct position with a major Oil & Gas Client here in Houston, TX.

The overall responsibility:

The jobholder will manage the strategic sourcing and category management of equipment & service contracts necessary for the execution of multi-billion dollar capital investments. While being based in the C&P Houston Hub, these projects may be local, regional or global, providing support in any of our current or future Asset areas.

The ideal candidate will preferably have/be:

The jobholder is accountable for all C&P activities in their Category, and for ensuring the role of C&P in value creation, control and safety management is fully leveraged, specifically: Health, Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE), Change Management, Resource and Talent Management, Value Delivery, Governance and Control, Performance Management and Best Practice Transfer, Personal and Professional Development.

Requirements:

Substantial practical experience across all phases of the full contracts making, contract management and procurement delivery process, gained in an area of technical sourcing, i.e., where the goods or services to be procured require extensive definition and design, this would ideally have been gained in an Operator in the upstream energy sector.

Has a record of facilitating and improving safety management through C&P excellence.

Experienced in working and being influential internally at GM level and above, and externally with senior managers of suppliers, contractors and peers in JVs, regulators and host governments.

Previous relevant (Oil/Gas/Engineering) experience in leading and driving the development and implementation of category strategies and managing a category portfolio that delivers value in line with business strategy.

Fully competent in all phases of the C&P process, with deep understanding of category management and the development and execution of C&P strategies to deliver optimal value to the business.

Noted for commercial acumen, creativity, clarity of communication, and conceptual thinking ability.

Deep understanding of C&P governance, process and systems, and the ability to provide leadership across organisational boundaries in regulatory and ethical matters.

Cross-organisation "buy in" to the approach, global consistency and quality of application. Educated to degree level; membership of a relevant professional body (eg: MCIPS, CPSM, MIIAPS) preferred.

While the jobholder will be based in Houston, this is a role with Global dimensions and they will be required to undertake national and international travel.
