PURPOSE

This position will provide expertise and direction in the design, procurement, installation, commissioning, operation and maintenance of Electrical & Instrumentation systems for offshore oil & gas production facilities such as Tension Leg Platform (TLP), Floating Production Storage Offtake (FPSO) and fixed leg platforms.
This position will have accountability in assuring E & I systems design operational support and regulatory compliance.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

Electrical
Experience in design, operation  and maintenance of HV & LV isolated power generations systems, switchgear, transformers, motor control centers and VFD's, motors, power management systems, electrical buildings, DC systems, relay coordination studies, load flow analysis, lighting, UPS's, cable sizing and cable tray design, Nav Aid, and marine management systems.

Instrumentation
Extensive experience in the design, operation and maintenance of process control systems, process safety systems, fire & gas systems, DCS's, PLC's, Subsea Control Systems, HMI systems, asset and alarm management systems.  Specification and use of flow meters, measurement equipment, flow computers, analysers, transmitters and control valves.
Operational Support
Substantial experience supporting the operation and troubleshooting of Electrical & Instrument (E&I) systems in the field. Willing to visit operational sites, as needed, to support E & I systems.  Knowledgeable in the use of Computerize Maintenance Management System to maintain facility E & I systems; SAP experience preferred.

Leadership
Sustained experience directing teams of engineers and designers in the development of project execution plans, installation drawings, and equipment specifications.  Strong interpersonal and communication (oral and written) skills are required.

Project & Development
Broad experience in design of E&I systems with accountability in the following areas: P&ID and One-line development, schematics, specifications, data sheets, inspection, testing, commissioning, scheduling, budget, cost control, progress reporting, and  start-up.

Safety & Regulatory
Strong knowledge and application skills associated with HAZOPS, LOPA, SIL assessments, API RP 14C, IEC 61508 & 61511, API RP 14FZ, API RP 500, NEC, NEMA, Arc Flash Studies, ABS, MMS and USCG offshore requirements

•  Leadership role in setting E&I direction within the Production Unit
•  Effective team leader and team builder
•  Operations and Maintenance experience related to the E&I function
•  Knowledgeable of regulatory requirements applicable to the E&I function for offshore facilities
•  Definition and management of capital projects
•  Training and mentoring role for junior E&I Engineers, Electricians and Instrument & Automation Technicians

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in relevant Engineering discipline required, degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering is preferred.
• Minimum 10+ years industry related experience
Experience & Technical Competencies
• Strong technical knowledge in Electrical and Instrument systems for Offshore facilities such as TLP and FPSO. Proven design, construction, commissioning and operational background.
