 Quality Production Management, LLC (''QPM'') is currently accepting applications for a Level A Production Operator for a 14 & 14 crew change schedule - changing out of Intracostal City, LA.
The operator shall be knowledgeable in operating procedures and have the ability to troubleshoot production-related problems/issues.
TASKS:
- Monitor meters and pressure gauges to determine consumption rate variations, temperatures, and pressures;
- Adjust valves and equipment to obtain specified performance;
- Read gas meters and maintain records of the amounts of gas received and dispensed from holders;
- Operate power-driven pumps that transfer liquids, semi-liquids, gases or powdered materials;
- Record instrument readings and operational changes in operating logs;
- Move controls and turn valves to start compressor engines, pumps, and auxiliary equipment;
- Turn knobs or switches to regulate pressures;
- Respond to problems by adjusting control room equipment, and/or instructing other personnel to adjust equipment at problem locations or in other control areas
- Take samples of gases and conduct chemical tests in order to determine gas quality and sulfur or moisture content, or send samples to laboratories for analysis
- Clean, lubricate and adjust equipment, and replace filters and gaskets using hand tools
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:
- Understand Process Flow Diagrams, Safe Charts, EPA, NPDES, and MMS Monthly requirements in addition to API RP T-2 Requirements;
- Familiar with pertinent State & Federal regulations;
- Possesses a strong working knowledge of chemical additives, wellhead, and downhole equipment, and artificial life methods;
- Familiar with company's safety policies and procedures;
- Knowledge of machines and tools including their design, use, repair, and maintenance;
- Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry and their applications;
- Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality controls, costs and other techniques for maximizing production operations
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Versatile in all aspects of oil and gas production operations, with capability of initiating methods to improve production;
- Operates a variety of surface production equipment, compressors, pumps and generators;
- Monitor, operate and maintain well(s) and equipment in a safe and environmentally positive manner
- Collect, record, and maintain data to fulfill State, Federal and company requirements;
- Supervise routine well servicing operations and minor maintenance/construction projects;
- Operate basic computer programs including but not limited to: Microsoft Word and Excel;
- Watch gauges, dials, or other indicators to make certain equipment is working properly;
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment
REQUIRED ABILITIES:
- Ability to work unsupervised;
- Capable of bringing a production facility on line and trouble shopping operational problems;
- Capable of training other Contractor personnel in operations of oil and/or gas platform;
- Able to direct the efforts of other operators to provide efficient oil and gas operations;
- Creative and problem solving abilities;
- Ability to provide valuable input to the Production Foreman on performance of other operators in assigned area
REQUIRED TRAINING:
- T-2 Certified;
- Certified in Crane/Rigger Operations as required by API RP 2D (must have valid certificate during contract period)
- Trained in Medic First Aid/CPR, Water Survival/HUET, Fire Fighting, OSHA, & Safe Gulf
- Trained in Environmental rules and regulations pertaining to oil & gas production;
- Trained in pertinent State and Federal regulations;
- Trained in company's policies and procedures as outlined in the new hire orientation
WORKING CONDITIONS/CONTEXT:
Position requires frequent travel aboard helicopters and/or boats in the Gulf of Mexico. Physical demands of this position include: frequent heavy lifting (to 100lbs), frequent climbing, standing, stooping and/or bending, two-handed simultaneous operations, and good hand-eye coordination. Environmental demands include: outside operations aboard oil and gas platforms in the Gulf of Mexico with exposure to rain, sleet, snow, wind, humidity, cold and heat
