Sr. Trainer- Drilling Practices & Well Control

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES

• Develop and deliver drilling practices course
• Develop electronic simulator exercises in stuck pipe and well control
• Operate and maintain electronic drilling and well control simulators
• Deliver WellCAP Fundamental and  Supervisory level courses
• Manage the WellCAP introductory level program
• Support in-house well control training program improvement
• Assist in the development of well control procedures and alerts
• Assist Operations department in assessing live well control situations
• Assist in the coordination of in-house sponsored SPUD meetings

REQUIRED OR PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Must be able to satisfy one or more of the following to become an approved WellCAP instructor;
  • Bachelor's degree with at least 6 months drilling or related experience
  • Minimum 2 years field experience as a Service Company Supervisor, Driller or higher
  • Minimum of 2 years as a certified instructor- Certification credentials will be required
• Organizational, math, writing and communication skills
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Power Point programs
• Drilling related experience considered a plus
• Drilling practice training experience and electronic simulations knowledge considered a plus
