Senior Production Engineer

Chaparral Energy

Oklahoma City, Oklahoma



Chaparral Energy, an independent oil and gas company headquartered in Oklahoma City, is seeking a driven and self-starting individual for the position of Senior Production Engineer.


This position will work as a part of an inter-disciplinary team to provide engineering leadership for the completion and production operations of the company in the Texas Panhandle, West Texas and Mid-Continent districts.  Normal responsibilities will include modeling, surveillance, and analysis of existing and planned wells to ensure optimal production delivery and making recommendations as appropriate:

•Prepare functional requirements for well completion and recompletion designs
•Design well testing and downhole metering requirements
•Develop well performance models and production forecasting
•Provide input for capital expenditure budgets
•Production log analysis
•Identification of new technologies to enhance well performance


Candidate Requirements include
•BS degree in Engineering (Petroleum Engineering preferred)
•10+ years applicable production experience
•Working knowledge of technical and industry specific software such as Aries, PowerTools, Petra, and Enertia
•Outstanding problem solving and collaborative abilities
•Excellent verbal and written communications skills and ability to work nicely in a team environment
•Initiative and independent thinking with a strong desire for results
