Engineering Manager

Our client, based in the Houston, designs, fabricates, operates and manages offshore drilling structures.  They are currently seeking an ENGINEERING MANAGER to lead their Professional Services Team.  The successful candidate will hold the following career skills:

Ability to interface with personnel at all levels
Represent the company professionally when dealing with the Customer
Ability to lead by example
Assist in the creation of corporate systems
Support company activities with travel, as required, to field and project site offices
Source, evaluate for hire, and develop engineering and design human resources
Assist in the preparation of bid documents/packages
Manage and review the work of engineers and designers
Evaluate Engineering Department workload
Distribute workload and prioritize tasks
Interface with site/field offices
Assist in the management of subcontractors
Interface with the Maintenance Manager
Bachelors Degree in NAVAL ARCHITECTURE
Minimum 10 years design experience
Prior experience with the design or refurbishment of ship shaped semi-shaped hulls
Prior experience with managing technical personnel
Prior experience in interfacing with Classification Societies (ABS)
Prior experience with an offshore Oil & Gas exploration and drilling company is preferred
