Senior Construction Management Advisor

Job Description

• Champion Safety
• Formulate construction strategies and plans to support successful construction planning and execution
• Represent Construction in concept screening/selection, contracting strategy/selection, and other project planning efforts
• Provide core competency/expert Construction consultation and support to functional and project teams
• Train and mentor Construction planning and execution personnel
• Develop tools to improve efficiency in managing construction planning and execution
• Serve as member of the Project Team (PT) when project assigned
• Provide organizational and staffing assistance
• Provide assistance to contractor supervision activities and safety management practices
• Champion safety awareness and safe performance with contractor and among Project Team members
• Act as a Construction technical consultant to various Construction and Project task teams
• Identify gaps/vulnerabilities/risk in construction plans, tools, materials, equipment, contractor performance, etc… and provide recommended actions/solutions to mitigate risk and maintain cost/schedule
• Develop construction plans, provide strategy, and give guidance on resolution of complex construction management issues
• Provide expert input to concept screening/selection, contracting strategy, and other early project planning deliverables (EPP, PP, EPDB, PDB, LIEW plans, mob/demob plan, cost, schedule, etc.)
• Champion/share best practices, Construction Management systems (CoMS)/tools, and safety with project planning and execution teams. Ensure balanced and consistent application of CoMS/tools across projects
• Conduct reviews of construction costs, schedules, and execution plans
• Assist with identification, evaluation and selection of construction execution personnel required for projects
• Mentor, train, and coach early experience Construction Engineers (including delivering training as needed.)
• Provide expertise in the pre-qualification of contractors, evaluation of contractors and maintenance of strategic relationships
• Lead/assist Construction Readiness Reviews and/or Independent Project Reviews
• Provide input to appraisal process for assigned Construction Site personnel
• Perform other duties as requested

Skills & Experience

• BS/MS in Engineering
• High level of construction knowledge, skill, and experience
• Past Project Manager or Construction Site Manager experience
• 20+ years experience
