Discipline Engineers in Production Division work in their core discipline but are expected to have or develop generalist skills - maintenance, supply chain management, asset integrity etc. The work could be 'in country' or in BP's main offices.
Additionally to support all divisions of the company there is a requirement to recruit engineers to work in centralised teams. This work involves some travel to operating sites to support local staff when necessary.
BP's Exploration & Production (E&P) Process Engineers provide technical guidance and support to BP's upstream business worldwide. We require Process Engineers with general Process Engineering experience and specifically with expertise in oil, gas processing and LNG, water systems, simulation, energy efficiency and heat transfer.
The work involves:
*Providing specialist input into projects and operations in upstream oil, gas and condensate production
*Contributing to written company practices, and embed continuous improvement
*Providing technical assurance as required
*Leading reviews including Health, Safety, Environmental assessments and process design reviews
*Developing and delivering learning programmes that build capability and expertise throughout the upstream
*Working in collaboration with specialists and engineers of all disciplines across BP
*Input into process engineering work and deliverables from engineering contractors and suppliers
*Providing expert knowledge of codes, standards, and regulations relevant to process systems
*Maintaining awareness of technology developments and opportunities and to provide evaluation of new equipment and technology
*Leading R&D and network programmes
*Mentoring younger engineers
*Representing the company at industry, regulatory, national and/or international level
Educated to degree level or similar in Chemical engineering or related subject
-A broad knowledge of design, selection and application of oil/gas/water separation and conditioning equipment, ideally in the upstream
-Expert design and operational knowledge of the principal operations within the upstream industry
-Practical experience of oil & gas plant commissioning and operation
-Knowledge and experience of the engineering contractor and supplier communities
-Excellent organisational, planning, written and oral communication skills
-Written and oral fluency in English
