*Under general supervision of the IT manager, the G&G application specialist is responsible for the installation, maintenance and user support of advanced Petroleum Exploration & Production scientific and/or engineering application programs. He will ensure that the proposed solutions meet user/customer requirements for high-performance computing.
*Will comply to the Corporate standard application portfolio to ensure the compatibility of the applications used between the Houston and Geneva offices.
*In coordination with the Corporate Technical Data Manager based in Geneva, he will implement best practice workflows for technical application data management. *Will ensure the data (Seismic, Wells, GIS) used as a basis for technical studies is validated (QC by Geneva) and that the final results of these studies are preserved in the corporate Record management system. *Will maintain a broad knowledge of state-of-the-art technology, software and/or systems relative to high performance G&G computing. *Install, test and evaluate new G&G software packages.
*Develop installation and support procedures (scripts and application packaging).Licence management for the installed base (initially 10 engineers) of G&G applications.
*Provide end user support to the Petroleum engineers using these G&G applications Implement simple workflows and procedure to ensure the quality, security and preservation of all technical data sets.
*Support the corporate G&G database initiative (Seismic, Wells & Production) with regular data exchanges between the Geneva and Houston teams.
*Train IT Help Desk technician in problem identification and solving in for G&G applicationa.Upon user requests write custom code/scripts to translate various data sets from one format to another, QC data sets and extend the functionality of G&G applications.
*Close collaboration with Petroleum engineers and managers. *Coordination with external service providers and suppliers.Coordination with corporate

*Master Degree in Computing Science, Petroleum Engineering/Science or other related disciplines or equivalent experience and training.
*Strong knowledge of G&G applications for upstream Oil and Gas (e.g. SIS, Landmark, Kingdom, Paradigm application suites)
*3 to 5 year experience in Information Technology Application support in Oil Exploration and Production environment
