Job Description:

The Global Logistics Manager leads and assists the organization in defining and executing Logistics concepts that optimize shipments to/from both domestic and international locations and that lead to improved cycle time and cost implications.

Job duties and responsibilities

Advises sourcing personnel on import and export of goods.  Manages quality control and product flow processes to ensure the on time delivery of material throughout the network.  Identifies transit times with deadlines and proactively directs corrective actions.  Responsible for the publications and update of global logistics standard operating procedures.  Ensures compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements with respect to both the import and export of goods.  Controls expenses, progress reports, and on-time completion of projects.  Oversees, manages and advises on value-added activities in the areas of transportation and related third party services (e.g. export packing, brokerage, etc.).  Negotiates contracts with logistics providers.  Reduces overall global freight costs, both inbound and outbound logistics, through negotiations with  carriers, forwarding agent, Integrators, airlines as well as sourcing new Service providers and optimizing the use of ocean freight. Reduces overall operations costs as a percentage of sales.  Implements global logistics spend reports by entity, analyzing transportation and warehouse invoice data to identify cost savings opportunities, initiating and driving transportation cost savings programs, developing a process and guidelines for ocean freight usage between regions.


  • Degree in logistics preferred.  Five (5) to seven (7) years related experience to include international shipping and freight forwarding management.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and general business software.
