Our Houston, TX office is currently seeking a Project Logistics Specialist
Job Description: Responsible for performing Owner's Team assurance activities associated with oversight of Contractors offshore logistics planning and execution processes for transport of Contractor procured materials for large major capital project. Provide strategic/ tactical input and guidance to project logistics manager, procurement managers, business teams and Contractor regarding off-shore logistics, export compliance, host country customs regulations and import formalities. Collaborate with Project Team to develop Logistics standards and templates to be utilized for off-shore logistic planning and execution. Support review and assessment of Contractor's contracting and transportation strategies and processes as part of the project execution planning with emphasis on local infrastructure of origin port. Responsible for ensuring Contractor meets project logistics milestones and adheres to logistics budget. Position requires strong safety leadership skills with previous exposure to major oil company safety culture. Must be able to present ideas and communicate effectively across all levels of management
Education: BS Degree Required
Experience: 15 + years actual Oil & Gas Major Capital Project Experience
Preferred Skills:
- Previous experience planning ocean charter and road transport of modules and other large, over-dimensional project cargoes
- Experience working with marine warranty surveyors, naval architects, insurance, port and steamship representatives, export packers, freight forwarders and customs brokers. Experience working on major oil company capital projects.
- Proficient in the use and implementation of electronic systems and processes utilized by companies and freight forwarders to manage project supply chain
- Strong background in MS Office and transport modeling applications preferred
Certification (if any): Ship Brokering and Chartered Vessel Operations, Maritime Law and Dangerous Good Certification a plus
