 
Our client, a major Oil and Gas owner operator is looking for a Project Engineer to take on a lead role in providing technical engineering support towards development of projects as well as project management.
Specific responsibilities include:
* The timely and cost effective execution of facilities capital projects, that fully comply with functional regulatory and safety requirements, and are aligned with corporate strategy, procedures and guidelines
* Consideration will also be given to the candidates who have been involved in designing to reducing life cycle costs through cost effective plant designs and acceptable reliability and operating costs
* Facility Engineers will work with or manage numerous external stakeholders (i.e., engineering & construction contractors) and work closely with Business Unit operations and technical staff, and other departments (i.e., Construction Support, Technical Facilities, EH&S, IT, Materials & Services Management, Land and Regulatory)
* Facility Engineers are expected to manage up to 10 to 20 projects at a time which commonly take 1 to 6 months to execute. Projects typically range in value of $1 MM to $5 MM; however individual projects can be significantly larger. Projects are focused upon the "well-head out" which can include: tie-ins, gathering systems (3"- 12" pipe), compression systems, small gas plant builds & modifications, dehydration & refrigeration, sweet & sour shallow gas, conventional and heavy oil, and high & low pressure systems
The development of all project deliverables is undertaken under the direct supervision of the Facility Engineer. This includes:
* Conceptual design studies and modeling (i.e., gathering systems)
* Design basis memorandums, project execution plans and design reviews
* Project schedules and process hazard analyses
* Sizing, specification and purchase of equipment
* Preparation of cost estimates/preliminary economic evaluations and monitoring/control of project costs
* Detailed engineering design documents and drawings
* Construction documents and construction support
* Supporting documentation for internal and external approvals, regulatory submissions, turnover to Operations,
* Commissioning start-up assistance
* Operations support including facility optimization and capital cost reduction
The ideal candidate has the following qualifications:
* A degree in Engineering
* Professional designation in APEGGA
* A minimum of 5 to 8 years of industrial project management experience, preferably in oil & gas
* Experience in Project Planning and Scheduling
* Experience in detailing mechanical, process design and instrumentation in projects
* Strong analytical, decision making, organizational and facilitator skills
* Able to work in a team environment
* Technical competence and awareness of technological facilities advancements
* Experience in leading multi-functional teams, managing the work of engineering contractors and construction contractors
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
* Excellent computer skills
* Hold a valid driver's license
