Senior Exploration Geologist

Oscar Associates are working with a growing International Oil and Gas Company to strengthen the company's Subsurface team. This opportunity represents an interesting venture because they have the financial backing to meet and exceed their impressive growth targets, whilst at the same time being a sustainable producing business in it's own right. The company are looking to attract talent who will relish the opportunity to get in on the ground floor; the layers of bureaucracy that hamstring larger operators aren't present and this option represents the opportunity to work in one of the remaining underdeveloped oil fields in the world. Whilst initially focussing on the current assets there will be the responsibility to work on new acquisitions. The company also have several exploration licences, a significant percentage of which have yielded positive results as well as a very successful drilling campaign with over 70% success rate from the wells which have been drilled so far.

As such, they are seeking a Senior Exploration Geologist to join their fast-expanding team in London. The level of responsibility will be high with this position - you will be expected to be involved in all aspects of running this enterprise, from start to finish.

You will be expected to have the following:

*Extensive experience in West Africa
*A minimum of 15 years experience
*A Bachelors Degree (minimum 3 years)

Your duties will include:

*Prepare exploration programs
*Evaluate blocks and identifing prospects, defining petroleum systems and perform play analysis, provide volumetric calculations and assessment of geological risks and uncertainties in identified prospects
*Perform post well studies and final block evaluation following exploration drilling
*Prepare studies for developing exploration concept based on regional block and prospect specific evaluations, evaluating offset data and perform exploration related studies
*Contribute interpretation of 2D and 3D seismic data acquired, structural modelling and attribute mapping
*Evaluate G&G data in corporation with relevant contractors and prepare recommendations for data acquisition
*Prepare well proposals for exploration wells planned
