Job Description:
TEAM Energy Resources are working alongside a major Independent Exploration and Production Company, who are currently looking to recruit an HSE Manager to support their projects in Africa

Overview:
• Manage all HSE office and operational business activities as per company objectives and legal requirements
• Provide field operations HSE advice on safety systems, policies, practices and procedures
• Provide HSE authority and  management over all site activities

Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with corporate health and safety to ensure operations and activities are compliant with companies management systems and ISO 14001
• Co-ordinate HSE elements of office, operational sites including risk assessments, inspections, audits, training and drills, and labour force awareness
• Implement corporate HSE initiatives across operational sites
• Monitor HSE policies and procedures compliance
• Compile and report monthly HSE stats
• Manage and lead incident investigations and reporting requirements utilising companies HSE and Quality systems
• Support site management to ensure any incident actions or audit outcomes are implemented
• Provide HSE supervision to, and perform compliance verification of, contracting companies in managing their operations
• Implement and co-ordinate local Emergency Response arrangements and teams to ensure adequate personnel and facilities provision

Experience Required:
• Proven experience of HSE management in remote operations, ideally including onshore exploration
• Identification of operational risks and hazards, and knowledge of related control measures within operational sites
• Drilling and Seismic operations experience
• Experience of development and implementation of HSE management systems in line with international standards
• Management of HSE activities in multiple locations with time split between office & field environments
• Able to motivate and guide others to deliver good HSE performance
• Thorough knowledge of HSE regulations, standards and compliance

• Ideally a higher level Science or Engineering qualification
• NEBOSH certificate or similar is minimum HSE qualification
• Minimum of 10 years oil and gas HSE experience

This is a consultancy (day rate) position on an initial 12 month contract (with possibilities to renew and extend)

The position is a residential role in Nairobi, expected start date August 2012
