Barge Engineer - Jack Up - North Sea
North Sea positions available for candidates authorized to work in the UK or Dutch sectors on a rotational basis.
The Barge Engineer must be experienced in the North Sea and on Jack Ups. Responsible for the daily duties of Barge Engineer including operational integrity, planned and preventative maintenance, Heavy Lifting, anchoring and Jacking.
Offshore certification is required of OPITO approved BOSIET, MIST, OIM certification (STCW 95 compliant); GMDSS General Operators Certificate; and appropriate safety certificates.
The Barge Engineer will:
-Perform all duties in a safe manner, observing safe work practices, including proper use of personal protective
equipment, at all times.
-Follow written preventive maintenance procedures on all mechanical equipment and maintains records.
-Troubleshoot equipment daily and takes immediate steps to correct any problems.
-Operate equipment and engines as needed per testing procedures.
-Comply with equipment check list as per inspection procedures.
-Comply with lockout-tagout procedures for all equipment under repair.
-Maintain inventory and inventory records for parts used on equipment repairs.
- Perform continuous improvement process reviews to update and improve safety and equipment condition.
The Barge Engineer reports to and will perform any other duties as assigned by Lead Engineer and Chief Engineer.
To perform this job successfully, you must be able to show appropriate experience in this role from a drilling background. An ability to troubleshoot, communicate technically and have general mechanical knowledge is required.
The North Sea is a demanding environment so experience of working in the UK or Dutch sectors is preferred.
