Stellar Recruitment is working alongside a multinational oil focused exploration and production company with assets in Canada, Europe and Australia. With production in light oil, sweet oil, natural gas liquids and natural gas, this company has a very diverse portfolio of projects to go with its global footprint.  The Liquids Rich Gas Surface Team has a current requirement for a TECHNICAL TEAM LEAD to manage exploitation engineering needs and the day to day technical leadership

Reporting to the Director, Exploitation and New Growth, the TECHNICAL TEAM LEAD will be responsible for:

  • Providing technical leadership to the team and assisting in the development of work plans
  • Calculating, maintaining and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of corporate reserves
  • Initiating, monitoring and optimizing depletion strategies of the LRG assets;
  • Identifying resource constraints and sourcing additional help when necessary
  • Coordinating the Canadian capital budget process for LRG;
  • Tracking capital spend communicating KPI's and recommending changes when required;
  • Applying LRG asset evaluation experience to the evaluation of A & D opportunities;
  • Providing estimation and evaluation of drilling opportunities
  • Supporting and assisting well optimization opportunities
  • Providing performance feedback on team members for annual performance review
  • Conducting presentations to executive management, partners, and government
  • Supporting the Land Manager by assessing lease/title extensions/ farmouts


To be considered for this position you will possess the following

  • 12+ years industry experience
  • Petroleum Engineering or Geology qualifications essential
  • Track record as technical manager or supervisor
  • A working knowledge of liquids rich gas reserves preferable
  • Canadian basin experience highly regarded
  • Professional Engineer qualifications preferable
