Job Description:

The Role


The incumbent will direct all Business Development activity, and manage and direct Business Development Managers in the Americas.  In conjunction with the Regional Director for the Americas, responsible for establishing, and delivering on, growth strategies for Latin America and the Caribbean, United States, and Canada.  This role will ensure compliance with the company process and procedures while establishing and maintaining customer relationships within the region.  The Business Development Senior Manager will make certain that the Americas business adapts to market trends and changes in customer/industry drivers.  

Key Responsibilities

  • Sustain an organisational culture that supports effective HSE management
  • Identify market opportunities and lead the effort to grow profitable revenue for the business
  • Match the company's technical and operational capabilities in order to maximise the sustained profitability of the client and the company
  • Provide leadership to plan, organise, manage, and continuously improve the business development in the Americas region
  • Develop and implement tactical plans to achieve objectives of the strategic business plan
  • Manage compliance with company Core Values, Code of Ethics, and company process requirements


Effective Management of Interfaces:

  • Maintain relationships with existing clients and developing new client contacts
  • Engage Senior Business Managers in the development of the strategy and growth of the business
  • Engage with Group M&A team for all prospective M&A activity
  • Engage government and non-government stakeholders to enhance company reputation, foster local communities and manage risk
  • Delivery against agreed metrics (Backlog, Win rate, Midas compliance, Look ahead volume)


Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience in Technical or related field
  • Experienced with the key concepts of HSE leadership & commitment
  • Extensive experience in the Oil & Gas industry prior to entering business development
  • Proven track record in the America region
  • High commercial & technical acumen
  • Experience in negotiating and commercialising contracts
  • Experience in dealing with changing deadlines, enquiries/related pressures, reprioritisations or trade-off's
  • Ability to relate and communicate with customers at all levels
  • Ability to align the region around the BD strategic direction
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills coupled with drive and ambition
  • Excellent organisational & work prioritisation skills
  • Great deal of peer interface is necessary to complete tasks via teamwork
