Drilling Engineer - Denver, CO

Stellar Recruitment has partnered with an independent, exploration and production company based in Denver, CO to hire a DRILLING ENGINEER who will be an individual contributor to a team that is:

• Expanding their acreage and operations in DJ and Williston Basins
• Focused on oil/liquids rich resource plays in the US and Canada
• Drilling 90+ wells in 2012 and currently operates 300+ wells
• Will be tripling in size over the next 12 to 24 months

As a DRILLING ENGINEER, reporting to VP of Operations, you will:

• Monitor and report on daily progress of drilling actives
• Insure that the drilling schedule is on track and cost effective
• Prepare detailed drilling procedures, AFEs and well designs
• Contribute to rig selection and awarding contracts for drilling services
• Develop and implement new technologies related to drilling
• Liaise with field personnel daily to monitor projects
• Ability to travel to site weekly on an as needed basis

In order to be considered for the opportunity you must possess:

• Bachelors of Science in Petroleum Engineering
• 5+ years drilling engineer experience for an oil and gas company
• Experience in resource plays - DJ and Williston Basin preferred
• Ability to work on a small, multi-disciplined team in a growth mode
• Previous involvement on an active horizontal drilling program
