Cost Engineer - major operator

Support the delivery of consistent but appropriate cost management structures for medium-size, stand-alone projects.

Assist with the roll-out of the emerging Company standard tools and processes and apply them on Projects.

Support the development of project Cost Breakdown Structures (CBS) and their population from the estimate.

Assist preparation of Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and documented Cost Time and Resource (CTR) sheets for phased cost estimates in line with the guidance notes for agreement and sign-off by the CTR budget holders.

Assist generation of accurate monthly cost reports, including variances from the plan on commitment, value of work done, management of changes and currency fluctuations against approved Authorities For Expenditure (AFEs).

Assist in analysis of trends.

Maintain and promote realism in the cost forecasts in the face of commercial pressure and optimism from project teams.

Maintain consistency in cost bases through rigorous adherence to the controls processes.

REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum 4 years oil and gas experience in cost engineering positions.
Excellent analytical, oral and written communication skills.
Good working knowledge of Cost Control principles and techniques.
SAP experience beneficial.
