Job Description:

Sr. Contract Specialist
Typically reports to
(Job Title) SCM Coordinator
Overall Purpose Support's the Operations team by providing various Project Management support services including: marketplace, contractor and material supplier intelligence, planning and estimating, contract administration, expediting and supplier performance management.

Key Accountabilities

  • Supports all contracting and project management processes  (including RFX) and provides recommendations
  • Collaborates with Operations management, Engineering,  & Legal teams ensuring effective planning and communication on final resolution
  • Participates in and contributes to the Project Management strategic planning process by providing  alternative solutions to problems and giving other recommendations
  • Responsible for preparing reports for all short and long ranging supply chain project planning needs
  • Meets with Operations teams regularly to review project status and contracting needs/expectations
  • Responsible for assisting in the planning of project management expediting functions (verifying that an item will be delivered by due date in order to avoid delayed costs)
  • Contributes to the Supplier Relationship Management (Business Review) program through acting as a liaison between internal customers and external contractors/suppliers
  • Actively leads pre-bid/proposal meetings, walk-thru(s), administers bid openings, bid tabulation, bid reviews for selected projects
  • Identifies opportunities to use strategic and alliance contracts through working with internal customers, studying various reports developed by engineering & operations, and networking with strategic & alliance contract holders
  • Provide supplier dispute resolution support to the Project Management & Operations  teams through making interpretations and providing solutions
  • Responsible for meeting current and continued compliance regulatory requirements, policies and procedures both internally and externally  
  • Acts as a resource to staff
  • Independently performs contract amendments and change orders
  • Conducts work in accordance with all company policies and procedures
  • Works with business areas to determine long term contracting strategies for specific services to ensure favorable value & availability
  • Responsible for negotiation and finalizing contracts for assigned categories
