Minimum Experience Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years verifiable experience as an Assistant Driller
• Working experience in an International and diverse cultural environment
• Experience on cyber equipment and VFD/AC rigs
• Experience with Top Drive Drilling systems
• Have a high school diploma or equivalent
• Have current IWCF or IADC WellCAP Well Control Certification
• Be fluent in spoken and written English
• Strong technical background in all aspects of drilling operations and support equipment
• Excellent leadership, interpersonal relations, communication and management skills
• Proficient computer skills in MS office software
• Experienced in land environmental and hazardous material regulations and procedures
• Ability to handle multiple tasks on a daily basis and to follow-up on all tasking to completion
• Ability to claim and accept ownership of rig equipment and processes, and to provide appropriate leadership when called upon
• Excellent customer management skills to deal with all manner, and type, of customers

Role and Responsibilities:

• Reports directly to the Driller
• Ensure maintenance and repair of all drilling equipment as required
• Maintain good housekeeping on the drill floor at all times
• Maintain productivity and ensure attainment of Company goals and objectives
• Supervise and coordinate the activities of drill crew.
• Safely perform all duties during drilling, work over and completion operations
• Responsible for correction or notification of any unsafe acts and/or conditions
• Attend pre-tour, post tour, special operations and weekly safety meetings
• Control drilling operations
• Supervise and assist with making trips as necessary to change bits, tools, and drill string length
• Be able to recognize pressure problems with the hole  
• Know how to line up choke manifold and stand pipe
• Recognize kicks, shut the well in and circulate out
• Responsible for slipping and cutting drill line
• Assist service personnel and coordinate drill crew during operations.
• Assist in the continuous training and development of subordinate personnel
• Ensure drill crew is working in a safe manner and with proper safety equipment
• Maintain drill floor inventory control of chains, rope, and other rig supplies
• Keep accurate and complete records as required and maintain daily logs and reports
