 OFFSHORE PIPELINE INSTALLATION (SHALLOW WATER)
Description:
The Projects Engineer / Manager provides project support and leadership for pipeline projects by stewarding design, fabrication and installation while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety and environmental integrity.
Job Requirements:
- Professional position with B.S. or M.S. engineering degree
- Offshore pipeline design and installation experience
- Good understanding of Project management
- Strong analytical, leadership, negotiation and communication skills
- Domestic and offshore travel required
Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership to project teams and ensure team alignment
- Ensure safety is addressed in all aspects of work planning and execution
- Coordinate and obtain endorsement / approval of project deliverables per the Project Approval Matrix
- Develop funding strategies and ensure appropriations are in place to properly execute the project
- Ensure cost and schedule estimates are generated; review / critique cost and schedule estimates prepared by third parties and steward project work efforts
- Develop and coordinate detailed work execution plans
- Monitor and evaluate performance in relation to overall job schedule, costs and quality
- Communicate key/critical work items or issues up to management
- Manage engineer and construction teams; review contractor / vendor work products to ensure adherence with Client requirements
- Ensure the development and execution of project Gate deliverables, including but not limited to the following
- Purpose and Objectives Statement
- Project Plan
- Project Design Basis
- Brownfield Assessment
- Facilities Design Basis
- Construction Plan
- PHA / HAZOP
- Startup and Commissioning Plan
- Pre-Startup Safety Review
- Management of Change
- Apply quality plan requirements to contractors / vendors
- Ensure required services, equipment and materials are bid, selected, and procured in adherence to Company procurement processes
- Develop purchase order requests, material and service procurement
- Coordinate required regulatory permitting and ensure project regulatory requirements are met
- Interface with Construction and Operations groups frequently to problem solve and troubleshoot project issues as they occur
- Report out project progress to Project Gatekeeper, Project Executive, Opportunity Sponsor, project team members and technical supervision regularly
- Lead transition of project to OTS Engineering & Operations during commissioning and start-up
- Ensure project learnings are captured and available to be shared with the Projects organization
- Prepare job closeout report and ensure all required documentation is filed
