Sales Engineer

The Sales Engineer works with Outside Sales to prepare bids and proposals.

Performs detailed reviews of Client and Industry standard specification.  Identifies deviation from Company or Industry standard practices.  Works extensively with Operations Groups to prepare bid cost spreadsheets, price quotations, drawings, and product delivery schedules to meet customer RFQ requirements.  Communicates professionally and courteously with customers during the bid preparation and clarification process.  Works with the Bids and Proposals Coordinator to process sales orders.  Assists account manager with hand over meeting and follow-up activities with the Operations Group at the completion of the bidding process.

Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university plus five (5) to eight (8) years demonstrated related experience; without degree, ten (10) + years demonstrated related experience.  Three (3) to five (5) years subsea oil and gas or heavy equipment industry experience preferred.  Sales experience preferred.

To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient in MS Excel and have working knowledge of AutoCad, MS Word, Adobe Acrobat and Groupwise or similar email system.  Familiarity or ability with software packages such as PeopleSoft and SalesForce beneficial.  SolidWorks or other 3-D modeling package a plus.
