Designer Mechanical NE

Job Summary:
 
Prepare design layouts, detail and assembly drawings, bills of materials, and schedule completion of documentations
 
Responsibilities: 

• Layout and design specific areas as assigned per company procedures and standards
• Perform calculations required to complete work assignments regarding weight, fit, function, stress, etc.
• Verify and check drawings and parts lists for accuracy
• Assist in systems development such as drafting standards, parts list systems, computer programming
• Make parts lists and detail drawings when required
• Support engineers on design projects
• Contact vendors to gather technical data on purchased components
• Assist and train contract personnel to provide them with technical and project leadership

Desired Skills:
General Level - Qualifications: 

• Two (2) or more years of vocational school in design and drafting techniques
• Two (2) years experience in a related mechanical field
• Knowledge of AutoCAD and solid modeling
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Attention to detail
• Some familiarity with manufacturing methods 

Senior Level - Qualifications: 

• Two (2) or more years of vocational school in design and drafting techniques
• Designer with 3+ years experience in related mechanical field
• Extensive knowledge of AutoCAD and solid modeling
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Attention to detail
• Oilfield equipment design experience a plus
• Good familiarity with manufacturing methods
• Supervisory skills
• Ability to work under minimal supervision
