Weatherford Canada is currently searching for a 3rd Year Mechanic Tech to work in our Drilling Tools (Rentals) division in Red Deer, AB.

• Check all fluid levels of equipment
• Performance evaluation of equipment
• Follow safety rules and regulations
• Good housekeeping and organizational skills
• Actively participate in safety meetings
• Report unsafe conditions
• Adhere to SOP’s when servicing equipment
• Pressure test swivel heads
• Wash and maintain power swivels
• Service power swivels and generators
• Troubleshoot engine problems
• Trouble shoot electrical and hydraulic problems
• Change defective parts correctly
• Notify supervisor when stock is getting low
• Ensure shop is secure at end of shift
• Able to assemble and disassemble swivel heads for certification
• Evaluate and adjust accordingly the performance of all power swivels (i.e. Swivel head speed, engine RPM and pump output
• Keep shop in good working order
• Replace damaged shop equipment
• Complete monthly truck reports
• Keep a record and day planner of ongoing jobs
• Preventative maintenance on company vehicles (get oil changes, tire rotations and send for repairs)

Requirements:

• 3rd Year Mechanic Tech or Journeyman HD Mechanic
• Knowledge of Sunstrand Hydraulics (closed loop)
• Detroit Diesel knowledge overhaul and repair is an asset
• Good communication skills both written and verbal
