|
Primary Responsibilities:
Technical Work
?? Provide integrated geological and engineering support to producing fields in Rajasthan.
?? Interaction with petroleum engineers and geologists in other Cairn producing assets to provide support and advice as required.
?? Mentor 3D model construction of geological and simulation scale realizations for use in reservoir surveillance and field development primarily in Rajasthan fields but advise across Cairn producing assets.
?? Recommend optimization to drilling operations of normal and horizontal wells .
?? Revise new well locations and work-over candidates.
?? Assist in developing depletion plans.
?? Written and verbal reporting of technical studies and appropriate presentation to management, partners & Government bodies and representatives.
?? Provide technical support and input to reserves reporting
?? Provide geoscientific inputs to the evaluation and development planning of unconventional hydrocarbon reservoirs including tight oil and gas sands)
?? Provide the required inputs into the development of CEILs 'Digital oil field' system
?? Provide support to New Ventures activity as appropriate and when required to assist the growth of the company
Functional leadership
?? Champion production geoscience functional excellence within the Reservoir Development team, including refinement of best practice workflows in Production Optimisation activities
?? Champion development geology and multidisciplinary approaches to production optimisation.
?? Participate in cross team/departmental peer review sessions as required
?? Develop and mentor junior geologists in the Reservoir Development team
?? Champion access to relevant leading-edge development geological technologies and supervise relevant Joint Industry Projects
Technical and Business Management
?? Develop strong working relationships across the development geology community in Cairn India
?? Lead workflow and review processes in Production Optimisation
?? Manage projects to time and budget
?? Presentation at senior management review/investment meetings as required
?? Contribute to planning project budgets
Networking and Liaison
?? Internal meetings and networking in Cairn India across Reservoir Development, Petroleum Engineering and Drilling
?? Liaison with legal, contracts and corporate departments as necessary
?? Be aware of Finance and Accounts key representatives to ensure payment of invoices in a timely manner
?? Be aware of new geological technical developments to build working relationships with technology developers in this discipline
?? Contribute to Cairn subsurface technology programme definition and technology transfer
Experience and Skill Sets Required:
?? Minimum BSc in Geoscience, MSc or PhD would be an advantage
?? 15+ years of experience primarily in production geoscience along with broad technical experience in development geology and interaction with production engineers
?? Expert understanding of static geological model building, including the incorporation of rock and fluid property data, pressure data, and flow unit data (PLT data), up-scaling to dynamic simulation models and model building workflows for use in field development, surveillance and management, and for calculation of reserve estimates incorporating engineering data.
?? Experience of EOR/IOR projects including water, steam and chemical flood/displacement techniques
?? Significant experience with an operating oil company is essential
?? Understanding of project execution and cost implications.
?? Strong current workstation skills, including working in a 3D visualisation environment using Petrel or comparable modelling environments
?? Expertise in ArcGIS and database management is important
?? Team player with open and flexible approach
?? Good communicator and presenter
?? Experience of mentoring and coaching colleagues to enhance their performance and skill sets
?? Commercially aware with entrepreneurial attitude
?? Willingness to travel internationally

Financial Authority
?? Responsible for planning and monitoring project budgets
?? Manage projects to time and budget
Reporting Authority
?? Within the Production Optimisation team, mentor and coach other members of the team and make recommendations for their development
?? To the wider development geological community, mentoring and coaching where appropriate and develop effective working relationships
