Our Client:

World leading marine support and offshore construction company with extensive North Sea operations. The vessel is a new state of the art multi-purpose construction vessel. She needs highly skilled crew members to join her in solving the challenging tasks ahead. We will set new operational performance standards even in the harshest environments

Job Requirements:

The Field Engineer will be part of the following activities; Have a key role in support of the offshore operations on the construction vessel Be a part of the construction crew on board and follow a regular offshore and onshore rotation, with a third offshore, a third onshore and a third on leave.

Work Tasks and areas of responsibility:

Have technical interface sessions between the project team and construction personnel on the vessel.
Implement new work methods to improve safety and/or efficiency.
Participate in project risk assessments, HAZID's and HAZOP's during the onshore rotation.
Review of procedures and give feedback to project team.
Promote safety culture and initiatives to the vessel crew.
Assist in mobilisation/ demobilisation of vessel.
Have technical briefings to offshore personnel to ensure that the work is implemented in accordance with approved procedures.
Technical assistance to the Offshore Manager.
Review and distribute task plans ensuring all relevant safety and quality issues are included.
Identify any deviations from procedures and manage this change directly.
Ensure engineering logbook is updated through each shift with a thorough handover.
Participate in the planning of the offshore work scope on a daily basis.
Assist in the planning of lifting operations and the preparation of Lift Plans.
Participate in Shift handovers, Tool Box Talks and supervisor shift briefings.

Candidate Requirements:

Technical University education - BSc/MSc/ Eng or relevant offshore experience.

Relevant installation experience in one or several of the following areas;

Subsea production systems/ Structures.
Umbilicals/cables.
Risers.
Flowlines/pipelines.
Marine installations.
Landfall/ trenching/ geotechnical issues.
IMR (Inspection, Maintenance and Repair).
Good English skills.
Capability to write clear and informative reports.

Personal Qualities:

Proactive and able to take initiative.
Capability to communicate formally and informally with personnel from other disciplines.
Integrity regarding own work tasks and responsibilities.
Capability to focus on customer, safety issues and other key areas.
Good cross cultural understanding.
