Job Description:

Contract position with a major Oil & Gas Client here in Houston, TX.
The overall responsibility:
The Geosciences Team Lead will manage Appraisal and Development projects/teams, on behalf of assets in client Portfolio, to deliver on Business Plan and growth targets. The incumbent will provide Geophysics and Geology leadership to drive delivery of projects jointly with asset teams and other corporate groups. This may involve working in virtual teams, in multiple locations, traveling and working for periods of time in other client offices.
The ideal candidate will preferably have/be:
Responsible for providing adequate support to designated asset area, and maintaining proactive links with assigned asset teams.
Identifying weaknesses and potential resource needs for assets, and making recommendations to Function Heads.
Assist assets with definition of project scope, schedule and deliverables.
Project value assurance, results delivery, reporting and knowledge sharing jointly with assurance team.
Responsible for technical IT and data management guidelines are applied.
Work as a proactive member of the BG functional community, to share experience and knowledge, and build functional excellence.
Requirements:
A broadly based, experienced Geophysicist, or a Geologist with significant, hands-on geophysical interpretation experience.
Technical skills in Geophysics, hence able to contribute to a project as a technical resource as well as project leader.
Demonstrable track record of success in a variety of upstream oil & gas projects, gained in several provinces around the world.
Sound understanding of associated subsurface and other related disciplines (e.g. commercial, drilling, facilities), with proven ability to operate effectively in a multi-disciplinary environment.
Field development planning experience and proof of project delivery.
Relevant technical degree and demonstrable track record of continuous training and development throughout career.
Ideally some experience of performing evaluations for M&A activity from data rooms.
