Job Description:
|
The Accountant will use their knowledge and experience of accounting/financial statement preparation and the oil/gas exploration and production industry to be an integral part of the Corporate Accounting group in Houston.
Responsible for the timely and accurate preparation of monthly (internal), quarterly (external) and annual (external) financial statements and management reports to comply with US GAAP.
Review general ledger accounts and other analytical reviews to assure clean accounting records.
Understanding of US oil and gas revenue and joint interest billings and how they run through the general ledger.
Determine proper treatment of financial transactions and prepare properly documented journal entries.
Liaison with external auditors on quarterly reviews and annual audits.
Work with VP tax on tax entries and reports as needed.
Coordinate with Financial Reporting and Analysis department on the issuance of quarterly and annual financial statements.
Prepare reports on selected financial information as required.
