This position will be based in Denver and support the development and operation of company owned assets, maximizing the economic recovery of hydrocarbons by providing technical and economic analysis. Will provide mentoring and coaching to junior reservoir engineering staff, lead Sac Basin reserve administration process and provide business development support as needed.
Assist production personnel with daily operations to optimize producing rates, cash flow and ultimate recovery. Manage daily production data and design and maintenance of required databases and interface with operators to exchange data, ideas and solutions to operating problems.
Lead and coordinate production and/or recovery improvement initiatives including well workovers, recompletion and stimulation (hydraulic fracturing in particular) as well as prepare wellwork procedures, cost estimates, project economics, and AFE documentation, and present same to management for approval.
Evaluate new or underutilized technologies and determine the applicability and economic benefit to assigned fields. Design, prepare and execute reservoir management practices and processes including; Data collection programs to obtain information required to analyze well performance (test rates, fluid and formation samples, pressure data, production logs); Analysis of technical data to evaluate reservoir performance using classical reservoir engineering techniques (pressure transient analysis, nodal analysis, material balance, reservoir modeling);
Lead and manage reserve administration process including1P, 2P and 3P assessments. Perform economic evaluations of all potential development and exploration projects including: Conventional cash flow analysis with forecast producing rates, prices, capital investments, operating costs and timing.
Assist with determining chance of success factors for new ventures and exploration. Portfolio ranking using discounted profitability index, cash flow profiles, development unit cost, etc.
BS or MS in Petroleum Engineering with solid understanding of natural gas reservoirs, wellbore hydraulics, reservoir characterization, and economic analysis.
7+ years in a Reservoir Engineering role in the Oil/Gas industry including strong working knowledge and experience in completion, workover and production operations. Strong computer skills are a plus.
