GLORI ENERGY

Headquartered in Houston, Texas and operating from state-of-the-art facilities, Glori Energy's vision is to sustainably and efficiently recover billions of barrels of oil trapped in reservoirs using existing oil wells through the deployment of its AERO™ (Activated Environment for Recovery of Oil) System.   Glori provides its services to oil producers to significantly increase their production from waterflood fields.  Glori Holdings, through its Phoenix initiative, acquires late life producing properties and abandoned assets, invests to revitalize them, and deploys the AERO™ technology to increase the value of these company owned and operated assets.  The position of Acquisitions, Land and Regulatory Manager is a critical role for both rapid growth of the overall company and for sustaining ongoing operation of the company operated assets.  

POSITION

An integral member of the Glori Energy team, the Acquisitions, Land and Regulatory Manager will report directly to the President of Glori Holdings.  He/she will have primary responsibility for formulation and execution of acquisition strategy including the identification, evaluation, and recommendation for asset purchase.  He/she will work directly with the President to negotiate and close specific deals.  He/she will have primary responsibility for all Land and contract related matters (e.g., title, division order, operating agreements, etc.).  He/she will also be accountable for maintaining Glori Holdings assets in full regulatory compliance, including securing all required permits and ensuring ongoing required regulatory reporting.

RESPONSIBILILTIES

• Sourcing acquisitions and current awareness of deal flow for mature oil prospects
• Ownership Due Diligence (land, title, unit agreements, division order, etc.)
• Contractual Due Diligence (operating agreements, water source agreements, product sales agreements, etc.)
• Ensuring appropriate acquisition support rationale and documentation including pertinent discipline input (e.g., geologic interpretation, production profiles, reserve analysis, economic runs, etc.)
• Acquiring all necessary permits associated with revitalizing acquired company operated fields (e.g., SWD permits, injection well completion permits, water source well permits, etc.)
• Understanding and maintaining various state and federal regulatory compliance requirements associated with ongoing field operations (e.g., required casing MIT testing and pressure monitoring, TA application, etc.)

JOB REQUIREMENTS

The company is seeking an Acquisitions, Land and Regulatory Manager with experience in the upstream domestic US onshore oil business, for a long-term commitment to an exciting, growing, and unique organization. The ideal candidate will have experience in A&D including due diligence processes, land and title work, and interacting with various regulatory agencies in typical industry permitting processes.  Personal experience with smaller scale A&D deal flow and extensive industry contacts involved in this aspect of the business is important.   Experience working in a fast paced, small company environment is a plus, as is experience with various states regulatory regimes as it is Glori Holdings intent to acquire and operate assets in multiple states such as Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, Wyoming, etc.  

A high degree of personal ownership for the acquisitions, land and regulatory processes is required.  The candidate must be able to contribute to and maintain a strategic perspective while simultaneously carrying out the detailed work required to be successful.  He/she will need to be effective integrating their efforts with an internal team (geoscience, engineering, field operations, etc.), external consulting resources, legal support and various other external parties.   Initiative, collaboration, follow-through, and an entrepreneurial spirit are critical for success.  

EDUCATION

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Petroleum Engineering, Energy Management, or similar.  A Law degree regardless of undergraduate degree is also welcomed.
• Certifications (AAPL, CPL, RPL) a plus

EXPERIENCE

• 10+ years applicable industry experience with concentration in one or more of the following:  Acquisitions & Divestments, Business Development, Petroleum Land, or Regulatory Compliance
• A&D experience evaluating Oil & Gas business deals including data room processes
• Experience reviewing and analyzing pertinent commercial agreements, title instruments, and various other upstream Oil & Gas contracts and agreements for provisions, obligations, etc.
• Experience working with regulatory agencies with upstream Oil & Gas jurisdiction
