BUYER
HOUSTON, TEXAS
Packers Plus is the pioneer of open hole, multi-stage horizontal fracturing and we provide technology-based solutions to the oil and gas industry around the world. We are looking for a Buyer in our northwest Houston office.
Primary Role
• Purchase materials and equipment as required by project or company needs.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
• Perform all daily purchasing activities for assigned vendors and products
• Plan and execute purchase orders for all manufactured items
• Deal directly with machine shops
• Compiles information and records to prepare purchase orders.
• Reviews production orders
• May assist with searches of inventory records or warehouse to determine if material on hand is in sufficient quantity.
• Assist with maintaining a list of qualified suppliers, by commodity, approved by the project and/or department.
• Monitor in-transit materials and equipment and ensure proper and complete closure to all purchases.
• Manage workloads in machine shops to insure deliveries are on time
• Generate status reports for management's review
• May verify bills from suppliers and purchase orders and approve bills for payment
• May classify priority regulations
• Tracking of vendor performance, evaluations, and reporting
Educational Requirements
• High school diploma or an Associate's degree
• Accounting background helpful but not required.
Competencies, Skills and Experience
• Strong computer skills
• Good organizational and planning skills and detail oriented able to manage competing priorities
• Good commercial sense and understanding of procurement
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Strong influencing and interpersonal skills
• Proactive individual with strong focus on continuous improvement
• 1-5 years of Buying/Purchasing experience in the, oil and gas and/or manufacturing industry
• Experience with oilfield equipment and outsourcing
• Familiar with machine shops
• Premium threading knowledge helpful
• Experience with Inventory Management and Procurement Systems helpful
