POSITION: RCA Maintenance Specialist
REPORTS TO: RCA Team Manager
DEPARTMENT: Upgrade and Repair Projects
LOCATION: Houston (HQS) with possible travel required to operating field locations.
BASIC FUNCTION:
Provide technical assistance with system performance, equipment and rig assessments as well as evaluation and recommendation of maintenance procedures and practices.
DUTIES:
AUTHORITY
Review RMS history of rigs for upcoming RCAs and prepare teams with a brief summary of findings for lead assessors/surveyors.
I
Coordinate with the Rig Manager Asset the completion of a RESA (Rig Equipment Self Assessment) report as a part of the Lead Assessors pre-assessment process and Stage Gate (0) of the Project process.

Conduct a post assessment review process for technical accuracy any maintenance issues or trends that may be occurring and advise findings to RCA Manager.

Communicate with RCA and Corporate Maintenance personnel regarding correct asset identification in the RMS System.

Review Assessment reports against QA/QC documentation and report findings to RCA Manager.

Participate as required in Rig Condition Assessments as team leader or other role as required on a periodic basis.

Participate in rig condition assessment initiatives and studies as well as other maintenance/condition based exercises as directed by RCA Manager.

Authority I To Act
Authority II To act but inform the person to whom he reports to and other interested parties.
Authority III To consult before acting
QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION:
Preferred: Technical college/Engineering school or MODU certificate
Bachelor of Science degree or college level/ military technical training
EXPERIENCE:
5-10 years in either offshore or Industry related practical maintenance experience in the area of drilling equipment or marine systems. College or vocational level education and/or technical job-related experience that provide a good understanding of both theoretical and practical applications of electrical/mechanical maintenance techniques as applied to modern drilling or marine systems.
SKILLS:
- Strong communication and writing skills
- Strong knowledge and understanding of RMS and all rigs/vessels operating systems and maintenance practices
- Ability to work with minimum supervision
- Good working knowledge of industrial safety standards, regulations and practices
- Skill in operating basic computer programs
- Basic analytical skills
- Strong technical skills
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Team player - must be an effective and productive team member and work with personnel in all of the company's operating locations.
- Able to work with minimal direct supervision
