 Job Description: Senior Mining Engineer Underground:

Responsible for the preparation of consultancy reports for clients, relating principally to the mining consulting practice of the firm.
This includes independent evaluation of both undeveloped and developed mineral properties, field visits and site inspections, participation in the independent assessment of projects on behalf of lending institutions, preparation of scoping and feasibility studies, and the preparation of technical reports in conformance with the standards of regulatory agencies (for example, Canadian National Instrument 43-101). The Senior Mining Engineer will be expected to develop mine plans and schedules based on commercially available software packages.
Travel is frequent and usually international, mainly to mine or exploration sites. Most of these trips are short and typically involve at most a week or two away from home office.
Generally, a Senior Mining Engineer will participate in project teams, typically with metallurgists and geologists.
In addition, a Senior Mining Engineer will assist in developing business for the firm in identifying opportunities for new assignments, identifying new clients and ways in which the firm can provide consulting services to existing clients. It is anticipated that, in due course, a Senior Mining Engineer will assume some of the management responsibilities associated with the office in which he/she is based.
Starting salary would likely be in the range of £70k to £80k for someone with approximately 10 years experience.
