Sr Drilling Engineer
We are looking for a Sr Drilling Engineer for our Santa Barbara client. Yes, your office overlooks the Pacific Ocean. Relocation will be provided. If you have interest and/or experience working in Monterey Shale, please read on.
We are seeking a 10-to-15 year, Drilling Engineer that will be responsible for coastal California off-shore and on-shore drilling and work over activities, with recent experience exploring and developing shale plays in the US is a plus.
Strong engineering and operational experience is required. Must be able to work within and support various multi-disciplinary teams focused on both development and exploratory projects.
Will evaluate and employ new and existing technologies. Coordinate and design for drilling, testing, and work-over operations. Develop cost estimates, permits, and well drilling plans for management approval, specifying factors including drilling time, casing design, mud selection, bit selection, hydraulics, cementing, directional drilling, stimulation, testing, and material requirements.
Will provide on and off rig technical consultation and oversight during drilling operations. Advise substitution of drilling mud compounds or tools to improve drilling performance. Reviews reports to determine that final casing and tubing installations are installed as designed.
QUALIFICATIONS
Must have 10 to15 years of onshore and offshore drilling experience (current) with a preference for backgrounds having shale plays and unconventional drilling techniques. Need to be a candidate with the majority of your career and recent experiences in E&P companies, completed a Petroleum Engineering Degree. Desirable if you have had drilling assignments in California.
