JOB SCOPE
This global role is responsible for facilitating the provision of market research and analysis support for the Category Management group. The Global Market Analyst will utilize existing resources and develop networks with a virtual team of colleagues across the global knowledge community, to provide essential and comprehensive information, in a consistent and seamless manner. The Global Market Analyst is also responsible for sharing local, regional, and global market intelligence, and providing strategic advice to the Category Teams within the group.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Lead complex research or analysis initiatives that support the Category Lead's strategic objectives
Understand the Category Management Team global strategy to ensure project prioritization
Spearhead data collection across a multitude of sources, including industry reports, market research resources, and commodity indices
Take responsibility to ensure that sensitive market information is circulated in the appropriate yet effective manner
Work with limited supervision, works well under pressure to produce timely deliverables in a fast-paced environment
Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of research or analytical tools and techniques
Is familiar with and keeps abreast of tools and techniques for gathering and disseminating market information
Make recommendations for new tools and improved techniques & procedures.
Act as a technical mentor, advising and assisting other Category Analysts & Specialists to utilize the research tools
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE
Essential
4 year degree in supply chain, business, or related field
Minimum 2 years of experience as a Procurement and Supply Chain specialist or financial/ business analyst
Advanced skills in Microsoft tools (i.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, Access)
Intermediate ERP system skills (i.e. JDE and SAP)
Sophisticated research, analytical and problem solving skills, including financial analysis skills
Expert in retrieval of information from proprietary on-line databases, the Internet, and other secondary sources
Passionate about research and analysis in the corporate environment
Confident presentation skills and executive presence, experience in presenting to an executive audience
Excellent project and time management skills with ability to complete multiple tasks and meet deadlines
Strong work ethic and good team player, comfortable working in a virtual environment
Possesses a deep understanding of the Oil & Gas industry and community
Highly organized and superior ability to prioritize conflicting needs
Experience working across disciplines and cross-functional teams
Strong communication skills across a wide range of cultural environments
Ability to develop strong working relationships with senior levels of the company
Confidence to provide a point of view ; proactive offering solutions and alternative approaches
Preferred
CPS or CIPS qualification
CPCA qualification
Oil & Gas industry experience
Business Degree
